What is a talking piece?

How do you use your talking piece?

Getting into our Routines! :)

Wow! It has been such a great start to the year!  This week we have gotten into our "full schedule" and meeting routine.  We talked about our classroom expectations: Control your body, Control your voice and Do your work, and how they relate to 10 Life Value Terms (adopted from TBRI).  Our 10 Life Value Terms are:

1. No Hurts inside or outside
2. Listen and Mind
3. Accept No
4. With Permission and Supervision
5. Make Choices from Appropriate Options
6. Focus and Complete your Task
7. Gentle and Kind
8. Out Actions have Consequences
9. Use Your Words
10. Show Respect

Each group worked together to create a visual for our expectations.  This is what we came up with:

We decided that "Show Respect" is our "bulls-eye" and encompasses everything else.

How Was Your Summer?

Welcome back to Old Bonhomme for the 2019-2020 school year!  I hope each of you have enjoyed your summer!!  I am looking forward to an amazing school year!

This summer I continued my internship as I am in the process of getting my Masters in Educational Leadership, and enjoyed time with my family.  My son James and I took a trip to Florida to visit my grandma.  We have gone to many parks and played outside as much as possible!  I have enjoyed gardening as well.  We moved in February, and I have had a "blank slate" to begin a new garden which has been exciting!  How did you spend your summer?  I would love to hear about your summer--feel free to comment below! :)
